Level 2 in Legionella Awareness (Hot and Cold Water Systems) 

This qualification is designed for learners who work in environments where legionella growth is a risk. It aims to raise awareness in order to prevent waterborne                                                       disease caused by legionella level-icon2bacteria. This qualification covers the health effects of Legionnaires’ disease, the control measures that should be in place to prevent it,              as well as the consequences for not complying with relevant legislation. In addition, this qualification contains a specialist unit covering the risks associated with               hot and cold water systems. This qualification is made up of two units: Unit 1: Principles of legionella awareness Unit 2: Understanding the risks associated with        legionella in hot and cold water systems

Level 3 Award in Legionella Control for Responsible Persons

This qualification is aimed at Responsible Persons of sites where legionella bacteria growth is a risk.level-icon3

It  is aimed at those either in the role of, or aspiring to be in the role of, Responsible Person relating specifically to the control of legionella on a site. It covers the             effects of legionella bacteria on the body and the impact an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease would have on a working site, how to identify and control the risks             associated with legionella bacteria, and how legislation and codes of practice can support its control. It is designed to enforce the importance of the Responsible Person with respect to ensuring competence of all operatives on the site.
